Juicing for beginners

Cut & wash all your ingredients! My favorite is very simple & oh so good for you!
GREEN APPLE
CELERY
KALE
I chose these three greens because I feel like they cover all the basics: Glowing skin, hair strength & growth, cleansing of the digestive system, rejuvenation of vital organs - need I say more?

This is the juicer we have because it was a Christmas gift from some dear friends. Make sure you read the directions throughly to ensure proper installation & operation! Always practice safe juicing ;-)

Place your ingredients in little bits at a time.

Here's a tip for easier clean up: put one of those pesky plastic bags from the grocery store (you know, the ones you hold onto because you feel guilty for throwing them away & end up having THOUSANDS stuffed inside a drawer? Yep! Those are the ones!) inside the container that catches the rubbish. MUCH easier to dispose of all the yucky stuff that way!

Here is the green power juice, fresh out of the machine!

Enjoy yours over ice with a stick of celery, just like Dean! :-)

Although I love to juice, it does get expensive and it is time consuming. I am lucky if I do it once a week! This recipe is the simplest I've come up with and we typically have all these ingredients in stock.

Other great things to juice:
GINGER
ROMAINE
LEMON
CUCUMBER
BERRIES
ORANGES

Happy juicing everyone!

**Another delish juice I've tried is called the SUPER SINUS JUICE for allergy & sinus sufferers! It contains lemon, orange, ginger & cayenne pepper. Great to clear up those passages & boost the immune system.**

  1. So is the taste really sweet? How thick is the juice? I don't have a juicer, would you really suggest spending the money to get one? Can you use a blender/Ninja if you don't have one? I see all these post of people juicing but have never really heard them continue to talk about it.

    1. Hi there! Thanks so much for you comment! You can control the desired sweetness of this mixture by the amount of apple you decide to use. More apple= more sweetness! Green apples are really good for you & are actually lower in sugar than red apples. As far as determining whether it's worth the money to invest in a juicer, I'd say it's all about personal preference & what you're comfortable with spending. Whether you juice or blend, you're doing something great for you body! Juicing leaves no pulp because it's all discarded during the process. That's the main difference between juicing & blending: TEXTURE. Will you use the juicer enough to justify the cost? What type of consistency do you prefer in a drink? Does it fit into your budget? All things to think about :)

  2. Great blog! Just getting interested in this. Might have to increase the fiber since juicing removes most of it.
BTW......I played a show with Dean in 2004......still gigging with Kavan.

    Love & light!
